Alignment
Has your vehicle been pulling in one direction or does your steering wheel vibrate when driving? If the tire alignment is out of balance, it can lead to problems with the vehicle’s handling and can wear out your tires quickly. Paskett Auto Care specializes in vehicle alignment and we can make sure your car is safe and handling correctly.
What is Tire Alignment?
The alignment of your vehicle is related to the suspension system, which is the system that connects the car to the wheels. Proper alignment will focus on adjusting the tire angles so they make correct contact with the road, limiting problems in the way it handles when driving.
Do I Need Tire Alignment?
How do you know if your tires are out of alignment? There are several key indicators that your vehicle needs an tire alignment service, including;
- Uneven tread wear
- Vehicle pulling to one side or another
- Steering wheel is vibrating when driving
- Steering wheel isn’t centered when driving straight
Common Repairs Needed for Tire Alignment
When the tires are not correctly aligned, certain issues can occur from feathering and camber wear to heel/toe wear and safety concerns. Feathering occurs when there is smooth tread on one side of the tire and a sharp grip on the other side. Improper toe alignment is the main problem related to feathering. Camber wear is another concern that leads to significant wear in the center of the tread. Heel/toe wear occurs when you have one side of your tread wearing down faster than the other side, which wears in a circumferential direction. In most situations, heel/toe wear occurs when the tires are under or overinflated.
Tire Balancing
When you come to our Roy auto body shop, we will go beyond a standard wheel check and make sure our customers are well-informed about the problems the vehicle is facing and provide the best car repairs needed to get your car back on the road. Tire balancing is a component of wheel alignment. Wheel balancing will identify weight imbalances in the wheel and tire combination, which cause several problems when driving. Depending upon your tires, our team will make minor tire adjustments to even out the tires and make sure they have the right weight, inflation, and overall movement.
We recommend tire balancing every 5,000-6,000 miles to prevent problems and maintain your vehicle’s overall health and safety. Contact Paskett Auto Care to schedule your alignment appointment, 801-728-3455!
